Ukraine and Russia are close to completing the issue of border delimitation, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

"We’re very close to the completion of the delimitation of the Kerch Strait," he said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television channel on March 18.

According to the Ukrainian president, further "civilized relations been the states" can be discussed now.

At the same time, the president of Ukraine said that the states have to approve a number of rules and regulations aimed at relaxing the procedure for crossing the Ukrainian-Russian border.

"As for the fact that our citizens are separated by borders, while their lives still aren’t improving, [and] instead they’re growing worse, of course we have to remove bureaucratic barriers in the way of frontier trade," the president said.
