You're reading: Yatsenyuk instructs Infrastructure Ministry to control, fine Russian ships entering territorial waters of Ukraine

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has instructed the Ministry of Infrastructure to monitor and penalize Russian vessels illegally entering the territorial waters of Ukraine.

According to an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, during a meeting at the ministry the prime minister also ordered the sea tribunal to increase its work on this issue.

In addition, he demanded that deputy minister Yuriy Vaskov should explain who is currently using port infrastructure and why it is mainly owned by private individuals.

According to Vaskov, port infrastructure is managed by state enterprise Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

In addition, Yatsenyuk instructed the authority to intensify work on returning Ukrainian ships from Crimea, which was annexed by Russia.
