MOSCOW - Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has said that defense funding will be continuous so as to prop up the diplomatic means and methods used by Ukraine.

“The Ukrainian government and parliament have done everything to implement the Minsk agreements. But there is no agreement with Russia over de-escalation of the situation. We need to prepare for further struggle for peace. To ensure that its diplomatic means and methods are efficient, Ukraine needs to have strong Armed Forces,” Yatsenyuk wrote on his Facebook page.

In 2015, army funding is “provided at 5.2 percent of GDP,” he said. “We have advanced some UAH 5 billion to buy new hardware and weapons. Not one payment issued by the Defense Ministry or the army General Staff gets delayed by more than one day,” Yatsenyuk wrote.
