The European Union's has realized the need to reform the entity in the context of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, Ukrainian envoy to the European Union Kostiantyn Yeliseyev said at the 8th Kyiv Security Forum on Friday.

In particular, currently common security and defense policy of the EU are under review in the context of an existing hybrid war and preventive measures, he said.

He also said that now the European Union is on the way of creating the energy union and the EU has started designing a new communications strategy. This is linked to the stoppage of propaganda, the diplomat said.Now a new long-term strategy of relations with Russia is being drawn up. Ukraine would like to see ‘two red lines’ in the EU-Russia cooperation strategies, he said.

‘The first red line – all independent countries have the sovereign right to make their own choice. The second red line – we can return to the normal business with Russia only in case of full restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,’ said.
