The Foreign Ministry of Poland has thanked the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry for its help in evacuating Polish citizens from Syria.

“I would like to express my most sincere gratitude for your decision
to assist Polish nationals in their evacuation from Aleppo. Thanks to
your commitment, a group of our citizens was able to board the Ukrainian
plane to return home safely,” reads a letter by Polish Foreign Minister
Radoslaw Sikorski to his Ukrainian counterpart Kostiantyn Hryschenko.

Sikorski also noted that he appreciated the excellent
Polish-Ukrainian cooperation in the consular field, and looked forward
to developing it even further.

As reported, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov
said 138 Ukrainian citizens and 15 Poles would fly to Kyiv from Aleppo
on Wednesday.

The plane was originally expected to land at Kyiv’s Boryspil airport
at 1840 local time, but it is likely to arrive later, he said.

As reported, on July 26 Ukraine started the evacuation of its citizens from Syria due to the unrest in the country.
