MINSK – Belarus has declared two Lithuanian diplomats personae non gratae, Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Anatoly Glaz said.

“Following the principle of reciprocity, we had to take symmetrical measures today and declare two Lithuanian diplomats personae non gratae for activities incompatible with the status of a diplomatic worker. They have been requested to leave Belarus within seven days,” Glaz said in a commentary published on the Foreign Ministry’s website on May 28.

A representative of the Belarusian embassy in Vilnius was summoned earlier on May 28 to the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry to be handed a note declaring two employees of the Belarusian embassy personae non gratae in Lithuania for activities incompatible with diplomatic status and ordering them to leave Lithuania within seven days.
