The Moldovan authorities should make the country attractive to the Transdniestrian population in order to solve the problem of Transdniestria, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said.
She met with Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Thomas Mayr-Harting in Chisinau.
According to the presidential press service, Sandu declared the consolidation of government institutions and the crackdown on corruption as a priority of the new government. “A functional state with uncorrupt institutions will make the western bank more attractive, will boost interaction between people on both banks of the Dniester, and will promote the re-integration process,” she said.
Mayr-Harting is paying a two-day visit to Moldova. He also plans to visit Tiraspol for meetings with Transdniestrian leader Vadim Krasnoselsky.
