You're reading: Russia records new all-time high of COVID-19 cases

MOSCOW – Russia has recorded a new all-time high of COVID-19 cases, 24,822, as well as deaths, 467, and recoveries, 26,021, in the past 24 hours, the operative coronavirus response headquarters said in a bulletin on Nov. 21.

“Russia has recorded 24,822 new confirmed coronavirus cases in the 85 regions over the past 24 hours, including 5,816 cases (23.4%) identified proactively, without any clinical symptoms,” the bulletin said.

This week’s trend of the growing number of patients discharged upon recovery from coronavirus has continued on Nov. 21. According to the headquarters, 26,021 patients were discharged upon recovery on Nov. 21, an all-time high.

But the death toll is also growing, a total of 467 deaths were confirmed over the past 24 hours, while 461 deaths were recorded on the day before and 463 on Nov. 19.

Moscow also saw a new all-time high of coronavirus cases, 7,168, and 74 deaths, as well as an all-time high of recoveries, 6,080.

The cumulative number of new coronavirus cases recorded in the 85 regions of the Russian Federation has reached 2,064,748. Over the entire period of the pandemic, 35,778 people have died in Russia. As many as 1,557,435 patients have recovered and been released from the hospitals.

The number of active coronavirus cases (all cases minus all recoveries and all deaths) currently stands at 451,535.
