The United States’ aviation authority has warned airlines to exercise “extreme caution” when flying over areas near the Russia-Ukraine border as tensions surge over Russia’s military buildup and renewed clashes in eastern Ukraine.

A plane is parked at Kyiv Boryspil International Airport, Ukraine's largest airport responsible for for more than 60% of all the passenger air traffic in the country. The European Investment Bank will provide Ukraine with 270 million euros to modernize the airport.
