The Hardkiss (pop)

Ukrainian progressive-pop band the Hardkiss, famous for the distinctive voice of their vocalist Julia Sanina, will celebrate the band’s fifth anniversary by performing their old hits and new songs in Kyiv on Oct. 21-22. After the concert in Kyiv, the Hardkiss will start a national tour.

Costumed Pokrova Celebration

Actors are to recreate the celebration of Pokrova, the Orthodox holiday of the Intercession of the Theotokos, in the medieval Ukrainian state, the Kyivska Rus. The celebration includes knights tournaments, historical theater plays, dancing, and games.

Jazz festival

A three-day festival of jazz music called “All Music is Jazz” will bring together musicians from the United States, France, Germany and Ukraine at the Closer art club. The musicians will give six concerts during the festival, performing their own songs and famous jazz hits.

Shakespeare’s ‘Measure for Measure’ in cinema

The play by William Shakespeare “Measure for Measure” tells the story of the puritanical judge Angelo, who is left in charge of the government when the Duke of Vienna leaves the city. Angelo tries to stamp out fornication in the city and sentences the soldier Claudio to death for having an extramarital relationship. But Claudio’s sister, a novice nun, can save him by spending the night with the judge. The play by Shakespeare’s Globe Theater will be screened in English with Ukrainian subtitles.
