Modern art pieces of known Russian and Ukrainian painters will feature in the pre-auction exhibition.
It brings together 140 works, among which are rare collection pieces of Leonid Vartyvanov, Dmitriy Kavsan, monumental canvases of Arsen Savadov and scandalous works of eccentric Illya Chichkan and Aleksandr Savko.
For example, Chichkan’s dominant theme is monkeys in human apparel, including Yulia Tymoshenko portrayed as a dressed monkey with her emblematic braid. Savko depicts Russian peasants in the masks of Disney characters.
Ukrainian young and progressive artists will showcase contemporary art, including photo, collage, street art and video art.
