Newly-created Ukrainian duo B&B Project rapidly went viral with their first cover video. The band’s version of the ballad "Nothing Else Matters" by American heavy metal band Metallica gained 600,000 views in 17 days.

The video shows two young
musicians playing a slow rhythmic melody on Ukrainian folk instruments,
while sitting on a bench and stairs in a Kyiv park.

The musicians picked an
English-language title for their first cover song because they wanted to reach an English-speaking
audience.

The acoustic rendition of the song was released on YouTube on March 10 by Serhii Shamrai, 22, one
of the band’s members, who plays a bayan,
a button accordion.

The second member of the band,
Tetiana Mazur, 20, plays the bandura, a Ukrainian
string folk instrument. Both are students of the Tchaikovsky National Music
Academy in Kyiv.

Serhii Shamrai and Tetiana Mazur from B&B Project perform a rendition of a Metallica ballad in their first cover video.

Shamrai’s roommate shot and edited the amateur music video. The bayan-playing band member plans in future videos to engage with professionals, as well as write his own music and not just popular cover
songs.

Shamrai and Mazur founded the
B&B Project in February. The band was less than one month old when their “Nothing Else Matters” cover went viral.
