You're reading: Eclipse is the best time to change future, astrologists say

This year’s first lunar eclipse will occur on April 4 at 12 p.m. GMT. The moon will be completely visible in the sky from the earth for almost five minutes, while the partial eclipse will last for 3.5 hours. The full phase of the lunar eclipse will be seen in Asia, Australia, North and South America. Though Ukrainians will not be able to see the phenomenon from their position on earth, local fortune tellers warn they are not immune from its “effects.”

“Lunar
eclipses influence external events in people’s lives,” says astrologist Olena Kalantarova. “This is the best period to get
rid of bad habits, unnecessary things or toxic people in our lives.”

“This is
the right time to make plans for the future,” she says. “Wishes have big
chances to come true in the nearest future.”

On the
other hand, Kalantarova warns that it’s better to postpone important decisions
if one has doubts about their correctness. “Negative consequences of wrong
decisions taken during an eclipse period may last from half a year till 18
years,” she says.

Some heed
the warning. Nataliya Shevchuk, an outreach specialist from Kyiv, tries not to
tempt her fortune during eclipses. Half a year ago she installed a special
application on her mobile phone that reminds her about the dates of lunar and
solar eclipses. “It’s very convenient to get text messages with reminders about
eclipse dates,” she says. “I do not treat this seriously, but I try to avoid
decision-making during such periods.”

Eclipse is
a regular astronomic phenomenon, but many people have an irrational fear of it.
It often causes anxiety among sensitive people, doctors say.“The
number of people with various mental disorders that look for medical assistance
increases significantly during such days,” says family doctor
KonstyantynZelensky.

For those
who are afraid of these celestial episodes, Zelensky recommends sedatives and a
good nap.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon is directly behind the earth and
enters the earth’s shadow (or umbra). A solar eclipse takes place when the moon
settles between the sun and earthand obscures the sun.

2015 is
marked by two lunar and two solar eclipses. The first solar
eclipse took place on March 20, and the second partial solar eclipse will happen
on Sept 13. The two full lunar eclipses will occur on April 4 and on Sept. 28.
Ukrainians will have a chance to enjoy the September lunar veil.
