Ukrainian pop singer Vladislav Levytsky was killed in a car accident on June 2.

The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. in Velyka Vilshanytsia village near Zolochiv in Lviv Oblast. According to the traffic police, Levytsky’s Toyota Corolla collided head-on with a transport truck. The singer died on the spot from traumatic injuries. Levytsky’s sister and her 7-year-old daughter were also found dead at the scene.

Levytsky was born in 1985 in Lviv. He received popularity by progressing to the final of the Shans (Chance) music TV show. In a tragic coincidence Shans presenter Andriy Kuzmenko, who was also frontman of the musical group Skryabin, died in a car accident earlier this year.

Levytsky was a prominent nationalist and his last music video “Tilky Chekai” (“Just Wait”) was released in January and dedicated to Ukraine’s constant struggle for independence since World War I.
