You're reading: Activists achieve cancellation of Kozlovsky’s concert in Odesa

The organizers have canceled the concert of Vitaliy Kozlovsky scheduled in the Odesa nightclub Itaka for June 2, the organization ‘Nebayduzhi’ (Not Indifferent) reported on its Facebook page.

The reason for canceling the concert was a scandal due to the performance of the artist in Moscow on May 9.

“Earlier, he stated that he did not know who owns Crimea, and publicly supported Nelia Shtepa [ex-mayor of Sloviansk, Donetsk region], who helped the troops of the aggressor country to seize the town of Sloviansk,” the organization noted, adding that in connection with the intention to hold a concert of Kozlovsky in Odesa, protests were scheduled.

Previously, Kozlovsky’s concerts were canceled in Lviv and Kyiv.

As it was reported, in Odesa in 2017, concerts of a number of artists that were performing in Russia or displaying a disloyal attitude towards Ukraine, were thwarted or canceled. Prior to this, activists of a number of organizations blocked the performances of the majority of Russian artists in Odesa.
