You're reading: Buddha-Bar Kyiv: It’s all about the eaterteinment

The history of the world-famous restaurant dates back to 1996, when the world’s first Buddha-Bar opened in Paris. The concept and idea belong to Raymond Wizan. To this day, “Buddha-Bar” remains one of the most popular and prestigious world-class restaurants. You can enjoy the food and atmosphere of a “Buddha-Bar” in Monaco, Dubai, Prague, Budapest while since 2008 this luxurious pleasure has also been available in Kyiv. Here one can find not only an atmosphere of hospitality and comfort, but also the peace that comes from the oriental art of knowing oneself.

The largest of all existing “Buddha-Bars” is in Kyiv. It consists of three levels: a restaurant, a bar and a Mezzanine lounge area. There is also a separate VIP-hall. All three branches of the restaurant are united by one big Buddha statue — the bar’s main symbol.

The philosophy of Buddha-Bar is based on a combination of a unique gastronomy of pan-Asian dishes, a branded musical concept and unique interior. The kitchen of Kyiv Buddha-Bar also follows the brand’s general standard — pan-Asian cuisine. However, “Buddha-Bar” was the first restaurant to bring pan-Asian cuisine to Kyiv.

One of the most popular trends in modern culinary art is the style of fusion. The harmonious combination of various culinary traditions from the countries of east and southeast Asia contributed to the creation of a single style that attracted the attention of gourmets from all over the world. Pan-Asian cuisine is one of the most outstanding representatives of this trend. Dishes of pan-Asian cuisine have a pronounced, unusual combination of flavors, aromas and exotic seasonings. Culinary experts from Asia have achieved perfection in the art of harmoniously combining what look at first glance to be the most incompatible products. One dish can have the perfect combination of sweet and salty, sour and bitter tastes. Another distinctive feature of the cuisine is to eat dishes without observing the usual order of serving.

For those wanting to enjoy the taste of pan-Asian dishes that will remain forever in their memories, our chef is presenting a new special menu. You can try different types of tasty foods, from soups and hot appetizers, to main dishes, maki rolls and desserts.

We would like to tell you about all of them, but it’s better to try them and we must tell you about three dishes that will really fire your imagination.

For instance, Laksa soup with seafood, takes 7th place in the top 50 famous soups of the world. Hearty, fragrant and spicy, this famous Malaysian soup will forever remain a bright point on your gastronomic map. Ideal for connoisseurs of clear and delicate aromas. And shrimp lovers should definitely try this unique taste of Asia.

Or you can find in our special menu Har Gow dumplings. This is a very popular snack in China, a kind of dim sum. Having borrowed a recipe for Asian dumplings, traditional in Chinese culinary culture, we have produced not only delicious and nourishing food, but also an unusual combination of healthy ingredients. Har Gow dumplings are made of a thin dough that becomes transparent when cooked, and a terrific shrimp and crab filling.

If you like desserts and want a reminder of the coming hot summer season, you can always enjoy our vanilla ice cream with banana mousse and miso-caramel. We promise: the taste will be unforgettable!

But pleasant moments in the Buddha-Bar are not limited only to delicious dishes. After dinner  you can enjoy the amazing atmosphere of the relaxed east, have a delicious cocktail, and enjoy a smoky hookah. On Friday and Saturday there are parties with a show program: an aerial gymnast show, a Buddha dance show, and percussion show. We are waiting to show you some real Zen and Oriental hospitality.
