‘Mandy’

An action film awash in blood and gore, “Mandy” also has wide appeal for its visual beauty and a refreshing performance by male lead Nicholas Cage. That is saying something, as in recent years Cage has been criticized for unoriginal acting in parts that all seem to blend together. But Cage’s role here, as a husband seeking revenge for his murdered wife from a satanic cult with a neo-medieval sword in hands, will certainly stand out in the actor’s career.
