New British Film Festival

The British Council starts celebrating its 25th anniversary of work in Ukraine with the annual New British Film Festival. This year it includes Cannes award winners, contenders for top British prizes and festival hits. Among others, the festival will screen a mystery drama “The Killing of a Sacred Deer,” a thriller “You Were Never Really Here,” and a drama “T2: Trainspotting.” The screenings are in English with Ukrainian subtitles.

‘Rebel in the Rye’

The new American biographical drama film unravels the story behind the bestseller “The Catcher in the Rye” and its author — American celebrated writer J. D. Salinger. The film details Salinger’s personal life, relationships with parents, his experiences fighting in the World War Two and a writing career. Written and directed by Danny Strong, the movie made its world premiere at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.

Christmas Art Market

Around 50 modern Ukrainian artists will present their works at the Christmas Art Market at Izone gallery. The visitors will have an opportunity to buy works of art, participate in workshops, enjoy Christmas movies and taste mulled wine. The market will end up with a DJ set and the Drink and Print party.

Laura Pergolizzi, or LP, is best known for her hit “Lost on You.” She has also found fame as songwriter for Cher, Rihanna, the Backstreet Boys and Christina Aguilera.
