Independence Film Festival

The annual Independence Film Festival will screen U.S. feature movies and documentaries that were released last year and received critical acclaim. The program includes the Oscar-nominated dramas “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” and “Phantom Thread,” the drama “The Florida Project” starring Willem Defoe, who was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Supporting Actor category, and the biography drama “The Disaster Artist” starring brothers James and Dave Franco, which was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at Oscars. The screenings will be in English with Ukrainian subtitles.

Lara Fabian (pop, folk, folk-pop)

Lara Fabian is a Canadian-Belgian singer who has sold over 20 million records worldwide. Her 1994 “Carpe Diem” album went gold three times after its release in Canada and became her ticket to the biggest world stages. The singer comes to Ukraine with her new 2017 album “Camouflage.”

‘Editions’

“Editions” art exhibition features print works by world-famous artists such as Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol and more. On Feb. 28, the organizers will sell the featured paintings at an auction. Unlike the original paintings, which can cost million dollars, print works are much cheaper – the organizers say that the bids will start from around $500.

‘But A Wind’

Vladyslav Troytskyi is one of the most popular and internationally recognized theatre directors of Ukraine. DakhaBrakha, Dakh Daughters and Gogol Fest are among his most famous projects. This time he presents the musical performance “But A Wind” where the words don’t have any power he says. “But A Wind” is a poetical narration which shows the dialogue between nature and a person. A large number of fans will simulate the wind. The actors won’t say any words during the performance.
