                                           Hedonism Festival

The motto of this music festival, which is taking place in Kyiv for the second year in a row, is “Say no to genre monotony.” That’s why the lineup includes both Ukrainian and foreign artists who play electronica, indie rock, indie pop, and so-called intelligent dance music – a subgenre of electronic music. Musicians Westbam, Ishome, Black Maloka, Latexfauna, Dz’ob, and Inaia will perform on the festival’s four stages.

                                                                   The Hippopotamus

This British comedy is based on a novel by Stephen Fry, the famous English actor and writer. It tells the story of poet Ted Wallace, who gets summoned to investigate a series of miracles happening in his friend’s country manor. The screening is in English with Ukrainian subtitles.

                                                                        Jazz on the beach

Ukrainian band Smooth operation will play jazz on Trukhaniv island right on the beach, 200 meters from the Pishohidnyi (Pedestrian) Bridge. The musicians will play saxophones, drums, percussion, piano, and double bass to perform cool jazz, R&B and funk songs.

                                                     Odesa International Film Festival

One of the best film festivals in Eastern Europe is again being held in the southern Ukrainian city of Odesa. Over a nine-day film marathon, festival organizers will screen the premieres of both Ukrainian and foreign movies. Visitors will also have an opportunity to attend workshops and meetings with directors and actors by day, and party with them by night.

                                                ‘Obsession’ (British National Theatre Live)

Belgian director Ivo van Hove created this stage adaptation of the 1943 movie “Obsession” for the Barbican Theater in London. It is a story of two lovers, Gino and Giovanna. They conspire to kill Giovanna’s husband to be together, but the crime tears them apart. Famous British actor Jude Law plays Gino. The screening is in English with Ukrainian subtitles.
