Kyiv invites tourists to enjoy city’s museums, galleries, clubs, and more with a newly introduced card Kyiv Pass that costs up to 35 euros.

There are three kinds of Kyiv Pass cards: for 24 hours (15 euros), 48 hours (25 euros), and 72 hours (35 euros). They can be bought online at www.kyivpass.com or in one of the Tourist Information Centers in Kyiv.

The card was developed by the tourism department of Kyiv City State Administration and became available for buying on Aug. 8. The administration doesn’t know yet how many passes were sold.

Kyiv Pass is meant to support the interest of tourists in Kyiv – especially since their number grows every year, according to Head of the Tourism Department of Kyiv City State Administration Anton Taranenko.

In 2016, 1.2 million foreigners and 2.3 million domestic tourists visited Kyiv, which is 20 percent more than in 2015. This year, Taranenko says, “the trend persists.”

“Kyiv Pass is for those people who come to Kyiv for a short time but want to see a lot,” he says.

Taranenko says they have chosen the most popular places among tourists like modern galleries, and also included Kyiv municipal museums in order to popularize them.

The card provides an access to 22 museums, eight galleries, two clubs, a zoo, one walking excursion, and a hop-on hop-off bus tour.

Among others, the list includes galleries that are free by default, like Pinchuk Art Center, Ya Gallery Art Center, and Nebo Art Gallery.

Taranenko says that the owners of Kyiv Pass will have the privilege of skipping lines at these venues.

The basic card for 24 hours also includes three metro rides, while a 48-hour one and a 72-hour one offer five free metro rides each. The rides are only included in the cards that were bought online.

Taranenko explains the small number of rides with the fact that the suggested attractions and museums are “located within walking distance from each other.” Tourists that need more rides can reload the card at any metro station.

The Kyiv Pass card comes with a booklet that includes a map and description of all the places in Ukrainian and English.

Compared to tourist cards in other European capitals, the Kyiv Pass is much cheaper, yet provides with fewer attractions. For instance, Germany’s Berlin Pass for 48 hours costs 99 euros and gives access to 60 places of interest.

The Kyiv Pass can be bought at www.kyivpass.com or in one of the Tourist Information Centers (7/11 Khreshchatyk St., 19 Khreshchatyk St., 29 Khreshchatyk St., 18 Tarasa Shevchenka Blvd., 2/31 Bohdana Khmelnytskoho St., 8/16 Bohdana Khmelnytskoho St., 2/31 Bohdana Khmelnytskoho St., 24 Volodymyrska St., 27 Lavrska St., 1 Ivana Mazepy St., 13 Rohnidynska St., 2 Peremohy Sq., 3 Spaska St., 4 Kontraktova Sq.)
