You're reading: ‘H.L.A.M.’ party: Mathias Modica

The upcoming “H.L.A.M.” party at Khlib club is starring German deejay Mathias Modica.

Modica broke through to the international disco scene with his energetic hit “Live Fast Die Old” – a collaboration with actress Asia Argento. Best known for his dance-loving folk tunes, Modica founded a new style “disco-folk-indie-rock.”

With a base in Marseille, he records remixes, travels the world deejaying and plays live with his band Munk. He also runs a German record label Gomma with his friend Jonas Imbery a.k.a. Telonius, producing and promoting new club music stars. Whomadewho, Rodion and Golden Bug are among his label’s best known offspring.

While Gomma Records is a small label, it gained success for creating new sound that blends electronic music, rock, 1970s disco, 1990s techno and electro pop. Moreover, Gomma is expected to release its own line of clothes. Other deejays playing at the upcoming “H.L.A.M.” party are Poko Coz, Antoni Ce Je & Markov, Appleman and Stas Twee.
