Ukraine On Film festival will open in Brussels on Jan. 20 with Oleksandr Dovzhenko’s avant-garde silent cinema masterpiece “Earth” (1930).

Screening of “Earth” will be accompanied by live music performed by Ukrainian band DakhaBrakha, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reported.

In addition, four new films from Ukraine which have received international recognition will be presented in Brussels. “Ukrainian Sheriffs” by Roman Bondarchuk, which is put forward for the Oscars by Ukraine, and “Mariupolis” by Mantas Kvedaravicius are documentary films shot in the regions of Ukraine, part of which are occupied by Russia. “The Nest of Turtledove” by Taras Tkachenko and “Close Relations” by Vitaliy Manskiy will be also shown as part of the festival.

The days of Ukrainian Cinema will be held in Brussels for the second time. The films will be shown at the BOZAR Center for Fine Arts.
