Ukraine and Russia are nearing a three-year anniversary of the Kremlin’s annexation of Crimea, and conflict over the peninsula has threatened to spill over into the annual Eurovision contest, which Ukraine is hosting this year. It won the right to stage the contest after its contender, a Ukrainian of Crimean Tatar descent, won the 2016 competition.
