‘The French Dispatch’

This year has already proven to be a great one for the cinephiles around the world. And it gets only better with every new movie premiere. This weekend, the long-awaited “The French Dispatch” by the iconic U.S. director Wes Anderson will finally run in Kyiv’s movie theaters in English. Often described as a “love letter to journalism,” the film is centered around four stories of several reporters in their battle to take on injustice and corruption. With its amazing cast featuring Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Adrien Brody, Timothee Chalamet, Owen Wilson and others, along with Anderson’s distinctive visual and narrative style, the film is a must-watch, critics say. “‘The French Dispatch’ is perhaps Anderson’s best film to date,” the New Yorker wrote.

‘Enter the Void’

The iconic film written and directed by Gaspar Noé, “Enter the Void” is back on the big screen. The drama is one of the most significant works of the Argentine filmmaker, known for provoking plots and unconventional directorial decisions. It is shot from a first-person viewpoint, following a young U.S. drug dealer who gets shot by the police in Japan. “Grimy and psychedelic, ‘Enter the Void’ ushers audiences through an out-of-body experience with the eye for extremity and technical wizardry that Gaspar Noé fans have come to expect,” Rotten Tomatoes critics wrote. It will be run at Zhovten cinema in English.
