1. Sofiivska Square

At Sofiivska Square, visitors can find the country’s main decorated Christmas tree, polar express attraction and photo zones. There will also be a stage, where bands and singers will entertain Kyiv citizens and visitors on Dec. 22–25, 30–31, Jan. 1–2, 5, 7, 12–13. Apart from that, Sofiivska Square will host a New Year’s celebration on Dec. 31, where the citizens will as usual gather to enjoy the holiday in a big crowd.

2. Volodymyrskyi Passage

Volodymyrskyi Passage connects two other holiday locations Sofiivska and Mykhailivska Square. This winter season, the passage will be decorated with a light arch. There will also be numerous food court spots, where visitors can treat themselves to hot dishes and drinks. At the festive market at Volodymyrskyi Passage, the attendees can shop for various Christmas gifts.

3. Mykhailivska Square

The heart of Ukraine`s capital — Mykhailivska Square is a perfect place for a family weekend. Here, visitors can enjoy the amusement park and spend winter holidays having fun at its carousels and other attractions available for children and adults.

4. Kontraktova Square

At Kontraktova Square, visitors will find a Christmas Tree adorned with decorations depicting characters and elements from the paintings of Ukrainian artist Maria Prymachenko. There will also be a food court with a variety of snacks and drinks, as well as a Christmas market, where one can buy various holiday gifts. Apart from that, Kontraktova Square offers visitors to try its Ferris wheel, for those willing to enjoy the beautiful view of Kyiv. Here visitors can find St. Nicholas’s residence and enjoy over 15 live music shows, held on Dec. 15–16, 19, 22–25, 30, 31, Jan. 1–2, 5, 7–8, 12–13, 19.

5. Sahaidachnoho Street

From Kontraktova Square, Kyiv citizens and guests can move to pedestrian Sahaidachnoho Street, where various holiday decorations have been put up, including installations depicting imaginative animals from the paintings of Ukrainian artist Maria Prymachenko.

6. Spivoche Pole Park

Ukraine’s first Citrus Festival features castles, Christmas trees and other objects made of over 120 tons of lemons and oranges. Visitors are greeted by the Sun Santa, whose residence is made of citruses as well. Spivoche Pole Park also features holiday post office, presents and souvenirs fair, food courts and a tubing hill.

7. VDNH

For a whole month of December, the New Year’s Toy Festival at VDNH holds exhibitions, lectures and workshops dedicated to winter holidays decorations. It also features a holiday post office and a souvenir fair. Kids can enjoy concerts, plays and film screenings.
