It is up to Ukraine’s government, particularly Economy Minister Aivaras Abromavicius, to decide whether to withdraw Ukraine’s complaint to the World Trade Organization about Australia’s law that requires cigarettes to be sold in plain packaging devoid of colors and branding.
The law has led to a decrease in smoking in Australia. Ukraine’s complaint that it violates WTO rules was filed in 2012.
