In an interview to BBC Newsnight that aired on June 22, Ukraine’s former President Viktor Yanukovych denied owning the Mezhyhirya residence near Kyiv, where he used to live.
When the journalist mentioned the estate’s zoo, Yanukovych said that the
animals “were just living there,” igniting the journalist’s teasing
remark that he was just living on the site of someone’s private zoo.
