A rally staged by nationalist Svoboda Party near parliament ended in bloodshed, with three National Guard officers killed and scores wounded.
Leaders of Svoboda were seen taking part in the fighting, but later the
party’s chairman Oleh Tyahnybok claimed he was trying to protect the
police from aggressive protesters. Pictures and videos of the incident
show the opposite.
