Ukrainian General Prosecutor Viktor Shokin appointed four officials to the committee for choosing an anti-corruption prosecutor, but critics say they are poor choices based on their professional track records.

Shokin chose First Deputy Prosecutor General Yury Sevruk; head of the
office’s main investigative department Yury Hryshchenko; deputy head of
the department for criminal investigations Roman Balyta; and deputy head
of the human resources department oversight Mykola Sadovy. Critics say
they are part of the problem, not part of the solution and as
ineffectual as Shokin.
