On his fifth visit to Ukraine, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden met with President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk on Dec. 7-8 to discuss the nation’s progress in fighting corruption.
He also gave a speech in parliament warning that Kyiv’s leaders have
historically proved “incapable of delivering on the promise of
democratic revolution, and that hope for a “new Ukraine” has been
constantly “snuffed out by the pervasive poison of cronyism, corruption,
and kleptocracy.”
