On Dec. 23, lawmaker Yegor Sobolev of the Samopomich Party tried to lead into parliament a group of activists who demanded a new mayoral election for Kryvyi Rih.
When the guard wouldn’t let them in, Sobolev asked them: “Do you want a
grenade?” referring to the Aug. 31 incident when a protester detonated a
grenade near the Verkhovna Rada, killing four National Guard officers.
Sobolev later explained that it was “a warning,” not a threat.
