The newly-created anti-corruption prosecutor’s office is struggling to hire the 30 prosecutors it requires.

The agency received over 300 applications but selected only 12
candidates due to the extremely low professional level of the
applicants. The candidates were required to have at least five years of
experience of work as prosecutors – the condition that was criticized as
it left out the younger applicants as well as activists from outside
the law enforcement system.
