Social media users made fun of leader of the Batkivshchyna party Yuliya Tymoshenko after she said in a post on her Facebook page on Feb. 21 that the “Third Maidan is roaring on the streets,” comparing the latest rally on Kyiv’s Maidan Nezalezhnosti square to the Orange Revolution in 2004 and the EuroMaidan Revolution.
The rally was held by a nationalist group hardly anyone had heard of
before, the Revolutionary Right-Wing Forces, that took over part of the
Kozatsky Hotel and set up tents on Maidan Nezalezhnosti on Feb. 20.
The
protest appeared to have fizzled out on Feb. 22 when municipal workers
removed all but one of the protesters’ tents.
