Yury Lutsenko, the ex-head of President Petro Poroshenko Bloc’s faction in parliament, was appointed prosecutor general on May 12.
To appoint him, parliament passed a law that lifted the requirement for
a prosecutor general to have a law degree.
Lutsenko said that he
received his “law degree” in prison when serving a sentence for abuse of
office under ex-President Viktor Yanukovych.
