Yuriy Ivaniushchenko, an ex-lawmaker, businessman and key ally of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych, was wanted in Ukraine and internationally for alleged embezzlement since January 2015, but earlier this year a Kyiv court closed his case citing Prosecutor General’s Office’s inactivity in investigating it.
Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko still promises to investigate Ivaniushchenko.
