President Petro Poroshenko is getting praise from Western partners. On June 3, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey R. Pyatt called the appointment of Yuriy Lutsenko as new prosecutor general as progress.
In a May 27 interview with the Kyiv Post, International Monetary Fund
Country Representative in Ukraine Jerome Vacher said that he was seeing
the start of more effective anti-corruption policies. Ukrainians,
however, see no results.
