NEWS ITEM: The Public Integrity Council, a civic watchdog that oversees judicial reform, has vetoed 140 candidates for the Supreme Court deemed to be corrupt or controversial. However, panels of the High Qualification Commission, which is controlled by loyalists of President Petro Poroshenko, have ignored 82 percent of the vetoes.
