NEWS ITEM: Two top allies of President Volodymyr Zelensky, Head of the State Security Service Ivan Bakanov and Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Serhiy Shefir on Sept. 4 visited the birthday party of Hryhoriy Surkis, a controversial businessman with ties to many Ukrainian politicians and oligarchs. When asked what the head of State Security Service was doing mingling with oligarchs, Bakanov joked that he went to “investigate” it.
