The Kyiv Post took a look back into the Agence-France Presse photo archives to put together this collection of historic photos in honor of Ukraine's 25th year of independence on Aug. 24.
The Kyiv Post published two special editions dedicated to the August 1991 secession from the Soviet Union, which collapsed at the end of 1991. Those were published on Aug. 19 and Aug. 26.
