Activists protest against Russian voting in Ukraine

On Sept. 18, nearly 20 activists came to the Russian Embassy to protest agains Russians voting from Ukraine for parliamentary elections in Russia.

Activists were trying to convince Russians not to vote in a dictatorship, since Russian President Vladimir Putin’s United Russia party will will anyway. At one point, there were fights between activists and men who came to vote. Police officers detained those involved in fighting. Also, activists wiped their feet on a Russian flag.

The National Guard and police guarded the embassy so that dozens of Russians were able to vote inside.
