On July 12 some 20 activists from the Reanimation Package of Reforms civic platform protested next to the Verkhovna Rada encouraging the lawmakers to postpone their lengthy summer break until they pass some key bills that are pending.

Activists brought beach chairs, umbrellas, and refreshing drinks to mock the parliament’s decision to go on a break for seven weeks. On July 15, the parliament will close the session and assemble again on Sept. 6.
