Titushki, or thugs-for-hire aligned with the government, were widely used to attack protesters in oblast capitals where several government buildings have been taken over.
In particular, they were unleashed on protesters in Cherkasy, Zaporizhya and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts on Jan. 26-27.
