The nation's main Christmas tree this year, 26 meters high, came from Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast in western Ukraine, according to Ihor Dobrutsky, founder of the Folk Ukraine project.

Like last year, a village fair — titled The New Year Between Two Bell Towers — will have a total area of 4.5 hectares and be located at the St. Sophia and St. Michael’s Square and on Volodymyrsky descent. An ice rink will fill almost the entire St. Sophia Square. St. Nicholas’s residence will be located on St. Michael’s Square, while fair houses will line Volodymyrsky descent.
