As Ukraine is working its way towards becoming a member of the European Union, many of its citizens are celebrating the official Europe Day as they attend a number of events in the nation's capital on May 21.
The two-day event is attracting Ukrainian state and city officials as well as foreign diplomats such as Ambassador Jan Tombinski, the head of the European Union delegation to Ukraine.
Some of the attractions include the Street Music Day festival where various musicians are playing throughout the city center as well as performances of skillful athletes. Cuisine of various national dishes is also available throughout the weekend.
