Valentine’s Day is still a new holiday to the people of Ukraine, but many people have taken to it in recent years, and people of all ages could be seen buying flowers or clutching presents in downtown Kyiv on Feb. 14.

Businesses around the city were also celebrating the new holiday, some holding events designed to attract lovers. (See the Kyiv Post Lifestyle section for a guide to Valentine’s Day events in Kyiv.)
