EuroMaidan Remembered: Another night of EuroMaidan ends with two rallies uniting

On the night of Nov. 26, 2013 protesters occupied two squares in downtown Kyiv, European Square and Maidan Nezalezhnosti. Each rally gathered from 2,000 to 5,000 people.

While opposition leaders and politicians gave speeches from the big stage on European Square, Maidan Nezalezhnosti was in the hands of the thousands of students who skipped classes to support European Union integration — specifically the signing of a trade and political back with the European Union that the government had rejected.

Around 10:30 p.m., the protesters from European Square joined the crowd at Maidan Nezalezhnosti, dropping all political flags and banners.
