Kyiv just gained another 310 hotel rooms with the official opening on May 18 of Aloft Kyiv, the first hotel managed by Marriott International in Ukraine.

The new hotel, located right in the center of the city, near the corner of Basseina Street and Esplanada Street, overlooks the Palats Sportu sports and music venue and Olimpisky Stadium, and is just 100 meters away from Palats Sportu metro station and the Guliver shopping mall and business center.

The newly-built hotel features all of the latest guest conveniences, such as rooms that can be opened at the flick of an iPhone, computer workstations in the lobby, and free, fast Internet access throughout the premises. The hotel also has a cocktail bar and plans to host regular music events.

Levent Cengiz, the general manager of Aloft Kyiv, said he aims to attract younger travelers as well as guests visiting the Ukrainian capital on business.

“The Aloft Hotels brand is designed for global travelers who love open spaces, open thinking and open expression,” Cengiz said at the hotel’s opening party.  “We’re for a new generation, who know that time is the most important, and who cannot live without modern technologies, stylish places with decent cocktails and the rhythms of trendy music.”

Reiner Sachai, the Сhief Operational Officer Marriott International, praised the new hotel’s ultra-modern looks, and its host city, Kyiv: “Aloft is the perfect match for a vibrant city like Kyiv, as it provides an entirely new, stylish and affordable approach to hospitality,” Sachai said.

Guests at the opening party enjoyed signature cocktails at the  W XYZ cocktail bar, with Ukrainian singer Gaytana setting the musical mood of the evening, helped by sets from DJ Nana. The guests were given a great chance to win weekend stays for two people at 10 wonderful properties of the Marriott International around the world. Timur Miroshnichenko as party host also kept the guests in a celebratory mood.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko also turned up for the party, and said the opening of a new hotel was always a plus for the city, as it means additional investment, additional jobs, and more revenues for the city budget.
