Hundreds of diplomats, businesspeople, artists, journalists, and others flocked to St. Sophia’s Cathedral late on June 30 to mark Canada’s 150th anniversary in Kyiv. The event, which was organized by the Canadian Embassy in Ukraine, brought together at least 150 Canadians as well as Ukrainian politicians and military officials.

Kyiv Post CEO Luc Chenier hosted the event with Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine Roman Waschuk. Chenier began the celebrations by highlighting a list of Canadian inventions while Waschuk continued by showcasing some of the common traits that connect Canada and Ukraine.
