MedSanBat tactical medicine trainings took place in the Kyiv main military hospital on March 14.

Trainings in field medicine became popular in the past year in Ukraine, with the interest and need for it being first sparkled by the EuroMaidan Revolution bloody confrontation, and then supported by the hostilities in Ukraine’s east. Volunteer medics have been playing great role in both conflicts.

During the weekend MedSanBat, an educational project of Viktor and Olena Pinchuk, has provided a free tactical medicine training for journalists. Also, Saturday was the last of the four-day tactical medicine training for medic volunteers and activists.

At the training the journalists were taught the CABC protocol: Catastrophic Haemorrhage, Airway Management, Breathing and Circulation. The training has also included instructions on how to dress a wound, transport a wounded person and how to deal with posttraumatic syndrome.
